how we improved our garden_

This is, how our garden looked like, when we moved in. It was completely cluttered with stuff.
Garden shed was filled  with trash and whole space looked to me  more like rubbish heap than
a garden. Most important  think is, that I already  had an idea what I want  to do with it. I saw
potential in that small piece of land in my head.

At first of all  I had to create few sketches and ideas to decide which option will be best for
our small  garden and for  our tight  budget. My priorities were to create spacious garden
full of small but interesting details. I wanted to combine style, and functionality.
These are few sketches  with some basic ideas.

We decided to go with option No.2 It was closest  to  our budget and needs. It means that
we had to  remove all rubbish we did not need. I tried to save as much materials as possible,
but shed was heavily rotted and most of timber had to go. Skid was filled to to top and
next day we started with digging :-)

Ground was full of stones and gravel and I had to  buy few bags of proper soil to improve
quality base for new grass. Walls were painted  to  white and gray. Different colors made
whole  space more interesting and  opened. Bamboo fencing was fitted to  back wall
for natural touch. We treated bamboo and all  timber with outdoor paint suitable for
wood fencing. It's better for performance and longer lasting

.

After  hard work with ground we finished painting and start with planting of plants and trees. Because I always wanted water feature in a garden I decided to make a small pond with for fish. Pond was my last  item on a list.

This  is, how we enjoy our garden now. Its  for nice sunny afternoons.   Air is usually  filled with  nice smell of lavender, oregano and other  herbs. Nice relaxing and calm feeling is supported with sound of water in pond. Salad from  our garden is one of the best I  ever tasted and I cant wait for our first  tomatoes :-)
